AMIRS WELCOME SPEECH

All praises and glorification belong to Allah (SWT) the first without beginning and last the without end. May His endless mercy continue to be on the best of mankind and the seal of the Prophet and messengers, Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), his household, companions and the seekers of truth till the day where neither wealth nor son will avail, except him who brings to Allah a clean heart.
Distinguished guest of honour, members of the Muslim Community, the former and incumbent leaders of higher hierarchies and my humble members of this great Society MSSN MOCPED/EKSU/UI Branch,
I hereby welcome you all to this year annual conference 1438 A.H(2017) themed The Mantle of Leadership with the best mode of greeting As-salam Alaykum Waramotullah Wabarakhatuhu
Verily a journey that has beginning must surely have an end. It has been an administrative year now that the mantle of leadership of this   great branch was handed over to us. Despite all the challenges faced day in and out during the period under review and adage keeps me going SUCCESS AND SUFFERING ARE INTERTWINE, i.e you cannot succeed without suffering I hereby urge the incoming executive members to see any form of hardship as a stain towards the road to success.
I therefore, urge the general audience of todays occasion to listen carefully as we have invited an erudite personality to make justice to the aforementioned theme which, I believe will make an increasing positive and beneficial turning point in our life.
Lastly, we are grateful to those who assisted this administration financially, words of encouragement, advice etc. We also want to seek apology to those whom we might have offended either consciously or unconsciously in the course of discharging our responsibility to please for Allah sake forgive us for only Allah is perfect. May Allah forgive you all as accept our sincerely apology (Ameen).
In conclusion, we pray Allah forgive all our shortcomings, accept our sincere apology and also accept all our effort as an act of worship. Once again, I wish the incoming instrument of change (executives) Allahs guidance and assistance (Ameen).

 ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT 1437A.H/1438A.H (2016/2017)
1.0 PREAMBLE
All praise and exaltation are due to Almighty Allah (SWT), the overseer of all affairs, may His peace and benediction be upon the best exemplary of mankind, Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his household, companions and generality of Muslims that thread and strive on the course of Al-Islam. (Amin). The administrative report of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) MOCPED/EKSU/UI BRANCH, EPE for the year 1437/1438A.H (2016/2017).
1.1 OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
During the period under review, the branch witnessed some positive development in the college such as the construction of new offices, Inauguration of the Student Union Government cabinet and emergence of Dr Popoola S. A. as the Acting Provost aftermath the death of the then Provost Professor Olu Akeusola,Dr Muse bagged Phd, Directorate of Degree Programme: Dr. Viatonu.  and changing of Deans. The University of Ibadan affiliate students were admitted and some of our members were admitted at the Lagos State University (LASU).
However, the branch also recorded some ugly and sad events like loss of souls in and outside the College environment and the issue of the victimization of University of Ibadan Muslim  students on Hijab to reveal their ears while taking passport which was later fought and won by Allahs grace.
2.0 THE EXECUTIVE CABINET
At the Annual Conference of the Branch held on October 16th, 2016 at LT1, the Shurah charged the following brothers and sisters with the responsibility to paddle the canoe of the Branch till the next administrative year (1437A.H/1438A.H) 2016/2017 academic session.

2.2 RESIGNATION

2.3 SECRETARIAT
The  College Mosque remains the temporary secretariat, while we look forward to the completion of the permanent secretariat at Odogbonle, Noforija, Epe.
2.3.1 RECOMMENDATION
The incoming executive should try to cooperate with each other and find more means to secure funds and  members should be more committed.

2.4 ADMINISTATIVE FOCUS /SLOGAN
The executive cabinet after several deliberations on the administrative focus /slogan, concluded on the administrative focus to be Spirituality, Academics and Understanding, the slogan for the administration to be ”Rejuvenating Pristine Dawah, Al Janah Ascertal.

3. 0 PROGRAMMES
3.1 INTERNAL PROGRAMMES
3.1.1 MEETINGS
In a bid to facilitating proper administration of the branch, several executive meetings were held and Sisters Circle executive meetings, one (1) general meeting was held with the total attendance of brothers 14 brothers  and sister
3.1.2 COLLEGE USRAH
This is a family-like gathering programme of members on the campus with a view to facilitating healthy interactions by learning salient topics about the religion of Al- Islam and to improve the level of spirituality of members. This holds every Wednesday at College Mosque between the periods of 4:15pm - 6:00pm. It recorded an average attendance of Fifteen  15) brothers and Thirty 30) sisters, totaling Fourty five (45) members.
3.1.3 MODRASAH (ARABIC CLASS)
In other to ensure the understanding of Arabic Language and Islamic knowledge within and outside the college, Arabic  lessons holds every Friday and Saturdays evening at Noforija Central Mosque, Noforija, Epe by 6pm - 8:30pm. The class were categorized into four (4) (Upper Class, Intermediate Class, Lower Class and beginner).
It recorded an average attendance of ten (10) brothers and fifteen (15) sisters, summing up thirty-five (25) members.
3.1.4 VARIETY NIGHT
 This is a means of embracing the spiritual strength  and soul of the members and the community at large. The branch organized variety nights which comprise different activities such as Tahajud, know your friend, quiz etc. This usually comes up once in every semester starting from 8:30pm to 6:00am at Pobo Central Mosque, Poka, Epe. It recorded an average attendance of twenty-five (25) brothers and forty (40) sisters summing up to sixty five (65) members.
3.1.5 TUTORIAL
 In attaining one of the aims and objectives of the society, the branch organized tutorials for NCE and DEGREE students to improve and facilitate better understanding of lectures received and assuring academic excellence not only for campus members, but also Muslim Ummah in the community. The venue used is always between Noforija Central Mosque and the college lecture rooms. It recorded an average attendance of Sixty (60) brothers and seventy-eight (78) sisters, totaling one hundred and thirty eight (138) members.

3.1.6 MUSLIM BROTHERS AWARENESS FORUM (MUBAF)
This is a programme designed to prepare male members of the branch to be physically fit, mentally alert and creating avenue to discuss issues relating to the male gender. MUBAF takes place fortnight Sundays by 7:00a.m at the College field. It recorded average attendance of ten (10) brothers.
3.1.7 WISE LADIES FORUM (WLF)
This is a programme meant to enlighten the female folks on religious, vocational training, health and other related issues as it affects them. It usually comes up fortnight Sundays between 7:00a.m-9:00a.m at Noforija Central Mosque, Noforija, Epe and recorded

3.2.8 LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMME
This is a programme designed to inculcate leadership dexterity and traits in her members. This years edition was held on  17TH OF MARCH 2017, the programme was organized twice, one was organized for the executives, while the other was for the general members with the theme: Influence of 3cs with the total attendance of one hundred members(100),  thirty five(35) brothers and  sixty five (65) sisters.
3.2.9 SAQOFAH FORUM
This is a program organized by the branch to strengthen the level of spirituality and exposure of our members concerning current happenings. However, the venue used is within and outside the college premises.

3.2.10 VISITATION/COURTESY CALLS
The branch embarked on visitation and courtesy calls to some dignitaries and eminent personalities both in and outside the college such as Alh. Olufowobi (Imam of Imokun Central Mosque), Alh. Banjo (Imam of Noforija Central Moque), Alh. Balogun K.Y,  Dr Ajape (H.O.D Arabic Department), Alhaji and Alhaja Hassan, Alh. Zhul Nurain, Alh. Otuniyi, Mr Ishola, Mr Abdulganiyy Qazeem to mention but few.

5.0 SISTERS CIRCLE
The sisters circle of the branch embarked on the following programmes and activities during the period under review such as Sisters Executive Meeting (SEM), Wise Ladies Forum(WLF), Visitation to Muslim Sisters hostels, and female dignitaries both within and outside the campus, coordination of female hostels, welfarism of sisters, business transactions etc. The following are some of the Sisters Circle Business: selling of Islamic Literature Texts, rentage of Decorating materials, etc.
6.0 SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT
The branch participated in social engagement of some members and well wishers such as Nikkah ceremony (marriage solemnization), Aqeeqoh (Naming Ceremony), Walimot Quran (Quran Graduation) to mention but few.
7.0 PUBLICITY
The branch publicized her programs via; SMS, social network, calling, invitation letters posters, card boards, painting on walls etc.
8.0 FINANCE
The branch raised fund through the following sources:

* Surplus from Programmes and Committee
* Voluntary Donation

ACHIEVEMENTS
Ensuring of mutual relationship between the branch and the college Muslims Community
Outright participation of Degree/NCE students in all her programmes
Repair of some branch assets such as: Generator, P.A.S, Printer, etc.
Ensured participation of University of Ibadan students
Slaughtering of ram for   Eid-Fitr festival
Refreshment at the College Usrah
Procurement of new kitchen utensils
Procurement of new complete  wireless engine and  microphones
Ensuring of mutual relationship between the branch and sister institutions such as LASU Epe and YABATECH respectively.
11.0 CHALLENGES
Insufficient Funds
Non  challant attitude of some executive members towards their responsibilities.
Delay of reports from some committees.
12.0 RECOMMENDATION
Next administration should strive to;
Maintain the branch computer system for effective paper work.
Complete the branch secretariat.
Be time conscious in programme planning
Should ensure effective publicity of their programmes and display of write-ups/food for thought.
Keep proper record of their programmes and attendance
Organize series of Leadership Training Programmes for both executives and general members
Constitute all the standing committees
Maintain branch account
Increase the level of visitation to members
Organize seminar for every programme planned.
To ensure good and mutual relationship among executives an d entire members
To ensure high level of spirituality of executives and entire members
13.0 APPRECIATION
Our unalloyed appreciation goes to Almighty Allah (SWT), who has given us the opportunity to serve Him through MSSN MOCPED/EKSU UI; we also acknowledge the immeasurable effort of our members, Ex-Mocpedites, MOCPED Muslim Community and all our well wishers for their support and concern to the Society. 1.0 PREAMBLE

1.3 CHALLENGES
Insufficient fund for our project.
Low turn-out of committee members to meetings and tutorial centres
1.4 ACHIEVEMENT
The educational board with the help of Almighty Allah achieved the Following:-
Organized tutorials for NCE and both degree students towards preparation of their examination
Organized tutorials for the NCE freshers.
Organized weekend tutorials for the NCE students.
Maintained the normal Islamic sitting arrangement among the students throughout the tutorial sessions.
1.5 RECOMMENDATION
The incoming educational board committee should continue with the monthly contribution
Continuity of academic orientation seminar.
The committee should look for more source of generating fund aside from distribution of envelopes.
The Chairman, Secretary and other members of the committee should take the board very serious and note that they are doing the task for Allahs alone.
1.6 APPRECIATION
Our special and unreserved appreciation goes to Almighty Allah (SWT), for His blessing on us and giving us the opportunity to serve Him through this noble office. We pray to Allah to guide us through.
